Chopta is the base point of the trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world lying at an altitude of 3650 meters. Chopta to Tungnath trek is easy to moderate trek, lying at a distance of 3.5 km from Chopta, it takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete the trek. If you are a newbie in the trekking zone, this trek is perfect for you as it will give you essential insight into the trekking in the Himalayan region.

Chandrashila is the highest point of the mountain peak where the Tungnath Temple is located. Situated at a distance of about 1 km from Tungnath temple, you can hike up to Chandrashila in 1.5 Hour. It lies at an elevation of 4000 meters, which is about 12000 feet! Yes, high enough to give you a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire region.
When in this region, do not miss the trek to Deoria Tal. Located on the Ukhimath-Chopta road, Deoria Tal is located at a walk of 3 km from Sari Village and is one the most beautiful glacial lakes in India.
Trek to Deoria Tal is an easy trek through the jungle trail, and it does not take more than 2 to 3 Hours to reach there. Set amidst the evergreen forests with snow-clad mountains of Chaukhambha range in its backdrop, Deoria Tal is the perfect mirror to the God’s own created heaven on Earth.
