The SCINDHIA capital "GWALIOR"-1 Gwalior is one of the most important places in Madhya Pradesh. This ancient city is a hub for tourist attractions.Every year approximately 12 lac tourist visit this city. The main attraction of the city is the Gwalior Fort. Built in 1400s by Raja Maan Singh, this fort holds a bathing room, a prisoner cell and many rooms.It has 4 levels.However , due to security reasons only two levels are available for visitors.A nominal entry ticket of 15 INR is charged from nationals.The fort is built on a hill.The fort area has the famous Scindhia Boys School , a Gurudwara and two temples.

The SCINDHIA capital "GWALIOR"-2 The 'Saas-Bahu' temple is another famous tourist attraction of the fort area.The original name was 'Sahastra-baahu' meaning 'one with thousand arms'. However due to local dialect and negligence the name was distorted to its present form. The temple area houses two temples built alongside each other. Full view of Gwalior city can be seen from it.

The SCINDHIA capital "GWALIOR"-3 Another famous attraction of the fort area is the 'Teli ka mandir'. Built in the 14th century, this temple was the stopping point for the oil merchants travelling south.Currently the temple is under renovation due to its deteriorating condition.

Another famous attraction of this city is the 'Jai Vilas Palace'. It is basically the residence of the Scindhia family.It is built in european architecture style.It has a large 'durbar hall'.Some part of this palace is now transformed into a museum for visitors which can be seen at purchase of a 100 INR ticket. The museum houses the artifacts of the Scindhia family.
