Welcome at the Leh airport by the expedition leaders. Acclimatizing to the altitude is very important journey before doing any activity so we take rest and venture out to the city market in evening for a casual stroll. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 2 : Day at leisure in Leh (TRANSPORT NOT INCLUDED) 16TH September
Wake up lazy morning. The day is at leisure.. Return to hotel in evening for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3 : LEH – Enroute Khardungla – “Nubra Valley” ( 17th September )
After breakfast at the hotel, brace yourself for the splendid drive over the mighty Khardung La – the 2nd highest motor able pass in the world at a height of 5602 M/ 18,380 ft. Over the route, the road dramatically plunges, and Shyok and Nubra Rivers unfold magically. You move on via Diskit to reach the white sands of Hunder. After freshening up, visit the Diskit monastery, which is believed to be the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra valley, and enjoy the sunset. Head back to the Swiss cottages camps by late evening. Overnight in Nubra
Day 4 : NUBRA -LEH ( 18th September )
Post breakfast, begin your journey for the day, exploring the various villages of Nubra Valley. Retrace your steps past Diskit, to go to Khalsar. Walk your way to the ancient Gompa. Don’t forget to pack a lunch. Spend some time and then drive back over Khardung La to reach Leh by early evening.
Day 5 : LEH – PANGONG TSO (150 kms) ( 19th September )
After breakfast, drive from Leh to Manali past Shey and Thiksey – the mound of earthen monastic dwellings, crowned by the Gompa. At Karu, which is a junction, you take a detour and start ascending to cross the Ladakh range over Chang-La (5,475 M / 17950 ft.) At the foot of the pass on the other side we reach Tangse village. The valley is blessed with a beautiful stream flowing through it, originating from the lake, giving a greenish tincture to the otherwise dry landscape around. Apart from flora this area is rich in fauna too. You can see a lot of Himalayan Marmots around the area. However, the main attraction of this circuit is the grand Pangong Tso, which you would reach by early afternoon. The mesmerizing beauty and the fantastic view of Tso places it a league above anything you have seen so far. over night in pangong
Day 6 : Pangong - Leh ( 20th September )
Wake up lazy morning. Check-out the camps after breakfast and drive your way back to Leh. On the way back, visit the Sindhu Ghat, Thikshey and Hemis Monasteries – the most powerful monasteries considered in Ladakh region. Reach Leh by evening. Overnight in Leh.
Day 7 : Bid the fairy land goodbye ( 21th September )
Check-out the hotel after breakfast and you’ll be transferred to airport to board the flight back to home.
