Welcome at the Leh airport. (18 aug) Acclimatizing to the altitude is very important journey before doing any activity so we take rest and venture out to the city market in evening for a casual stroll. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (On Own). Later if time permits visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries and check in at Deluxe Camp. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.
KHARDUNGLA PASS: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms. Away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at higher altitude than Deskit and other villages.
DESKIT VILLAGE: Deskit is the main village of headquarter of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop. Spectacular view of the valley can be seen form the monastery.
DESKIT GOMPA: Deskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa, which is a branch of Thikse Monastery. The monastic festival called Gustor takes place on 20th and 21st days of the 12th month of Tibetan calendar.
HUNDAR VILLAGE: Hundar is a beautiful village to stay with lot of trees and you will really enjoy your stay at Hundar. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump bacterian camels) from Hundar to Deskit, through sand dunes for two hours is wonderful (on own).
Nubra – Pangong Tso (4260 M / 14000 ft) (20 Aug)
After Breakfast, begin your journey for the day, exploring the various villages of Nubra Valley. Retrace your Towards Pangong via Shyok/ Warila, The sunset is the perfect backdrop you can wish for. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 133 Kms long with half of it’s running the other side of the “INDO CHINA BORDER”. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. .Reach Hotel by late evening. Overnight stay in Camp/ Hotel
Pangong – Leh (21 Aug)
After breakfast drive back to Leh. On the way back, visit the Sindhu Ghat. Later you may also indulge in a little photo shoot if you get a chance to witness the blessed sunset at the Lake. Overnight in Leh
local sight-seeing in Leh - (22 Aug)
Wake up lazy morning. After breakfast drive your way to Leh – Srinagar highway. Visit the Hall of fame, Magnetic hill, Confluence point, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, etc. Return to leh in the evening for dinner and overnight stay
In the morning after breakfast, drive your way to Stok Village where one can study the history of Ladakh. There You can walk the village and enjoy the food over there in a Ladakhi home along with families. Get to know their culture, enjoy Ladakhi cuisine on your own, and interact with locals and hikers around there Later drive to Sangam (Confluence). Enroute visit Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Visit Confluence of Zanskar and Indus River. On your way back, visit Spituk Monastery (Kali Mata Temple) and Ladakh Hall of fame. After your visit, return to the hotel in Leh. Dinner & Overnight at Leh.
Back to home -(24 Aug) After breakfast check out from the Hotel and transfer to Leh Airport.back to home.
