Arrive at Leh ( 26th july, 16 ) Welcome at the Leh airport by the expedition leaders with the traditional Ladakhi silk scarf “Khatak”. Acclimatizing to the altitude is very important journey before doing any activity so we take rest and venture out to the city market in evening for a casual stroll. Explore the cafés and restaurants, experience the Ladakhi culture and try your hands on some local cuisines. Return to hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
LEH – Enroute Khardungla – “Nubra Valley” ( 27th july, 16 ) After breakfast at the hotel, brace yourself for the splendid drive over the mighty Khardung La – the 2nd highest motor able pass in the world at a height of 5602 M/ 18,380 ft. Over the route, the road dramatically plunges, and Shyok and Nubra Rivers unfold magically. You move on via Diskit to reach the white sands of Hunder. After freshening up, visit the Diskit monastery, which is believed to be the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra valley, and enjoy the sunset. Head back to the Swiss cottages camps by late evening. Overnight in Nubra.
Nubra – Leh ( 28th july, 16 ) Post breakfast, begin your journey for the day, exploring the various villages of Nubra Valley. Retrace your steps past Diskit, to go to Khalsar Walk your way to the ancient Gompa. Don’t forget to pack a lunch. Spend some time and then drive back over Khardung La to reach Leh by early evening. On reaching Leh, visit the Shanti Stupa. The sunset is the perfect backdrop you can wish for. Head back to the hotel by late evening. Overnight in Leh.
LEH – PANGONG TSO (150 kms) 5 hrs drive ( 29th july, 16 ) After breakfast, drive the mound of earthen monastic dwellings, crowned by the Gompa. The valley is blessed with a beautiful stream flowing through it, originating from the lake, giving a greenish tincture to the otherwise dry landscape around. Apart from flora this area is rich in fauna too. You can see a lot of Himalayan Marmots around the area. However, the main attraction of this circuit is the grand Pangong Tso, which you would reach by early evening. The mesmerizing beauty and the fantastic view of Tso places it a league above anything you have seen so far. Stay overnight in safari tents by the lake shore.
Pangong – Leh ( 30th july, 16 ) After breakfast drive back to Leh. On the way back, visit the Sindhu Ghat. Later you may also indulge in a little photo shoot if you get a chance to witness the blessed sunset at the Lake. Overnight in Leh.
Head for the Rafting session and local sight-seeing around Leh: ( 31st july, 16 ) After breakfast at the hotel start your journey to nemoo. The drive further is one of the most spectacular journeys you will have. From the mountains formed by amalgamation of various types and textures of rocks to the dazzling Zanskar Valley, accompanying you all along the journey the white snow clad peaks, this route gives you an absolute picturesque landscape.
Rafting down the Zanskar River a journey through the Grand Canyon of the East – Have Lunch at the Rafting Camp and then head to visit the Magnetic hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Hall of fame, etc. Return to Leh in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Bid the fairy land good bye ( 1st aug, 16 ) In morning after breakfast, bid the Ladakh region goodbye and board the flight back to home.
