Renukaji was wife of Sage Jamadagini and mother of Parshuram who is recognized as one of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu. The Renuka Lake (660 m) is regarded as the embodimezznt of Renukaji. Shaped like a profile of a woman, the lake has the circumference of 2.5 km and is the largest in Himachal.
One can visit a number of places here, some of them are as mentioned.
RENUKA LAKE : The lake is considered to be a living embodiment of Renukaji. There is a row of temples along its banks, and a track encircles the water. One can enjoy boating in the lake
PARASHURAM TAL AND RENUKA TEMPLE (100M) : Prashuram Tal is dedicated to Parshuram. Both mother and son are reunited every year at a celebratory fair held in November.
JAMU PEAK (8 km): Dedicated to Sage Jamadagni this peak offers an excellent view of the lake and surrounding area.
MINI ZOO (2 km) : The zoo is accesible by boat. You can seeAsiatic lions, spotted deer, lion tailed macaques, 'Nilgai' Methuen, barking deer and Himalayan black bears. you can also go on a lion safari here.
