Get rolling in the sand, walk the by-lanes of the golden city, visit the Sandstone Fort and Gadisagar Lake, gulp down some thandai wake up the child within you. Jaisalmer Fort also famous as the 'Sonar Quila', gets its character from the yellow sandstone walls and it is an utter pleasure for the eyes in the evenings when every nook and corner of the fort lights up and shimmers. Bada Bagh contains a set of royal cenotaphs (chhatris) of Maharajas of the state. Salim Singh ki haveli - an another attraction situated beside the hills near the Jaisalmer Fort has a distinct architecture. The tuskers guarding the gateways are made of sand stones and look very close to the original in appearance.
